Futbol Club Juárez informa que Pedro Caixinha es nuevo Director Técnico del Primer Equipo de los Bravos a partir del próximo Clausura 2026 de la Liga MX y durante los próximos dos años; además se convertirá en el primer director técnico europeo en dirigir al club juarense en su historia.
El entrenador portugués llega al club para aportar su experiencia, liderazgo y su mentalidad ganadora junto con su cuerpo técnico, que es conformado por José Pratas y Pedro Malta como asistentes técnicos, Guilherme Gomes como preparado físico y José Belman como entrenador de porteros.
Nuestro nuevo Director Técnico es originario de Beja, Portugal y tiene 55 años de edad. FC Juárez será el club número 13 que Caixinha dirija en su carrera y el tercero en la Liga MX, pues anteriormente estuvo en Santos Laguna en dos etapas (2013-2015 y 2022) y en Cruz Azul (2018-2019).
Pedro se convirtió en el primer entrenador en coronarse en todas las competencias modernas del futbol mexicano, es decir que en su palmarés presume un título de Liga MX con Santos Laguna en el Clausura 2015, un Campeón de Campeones con Santos Laguna en 2014-15, una Copa MX con Santos Laguna en 2014-15, otra Copa MX con Cruz Azul en 2018-19 y una Supercopa MX con Cruz Azul en 2018-19.
Una característica de los equipos de nuestro nuevo entrenador es la competencia con regularidad en instancias finales y partidos importantes, pues Caixinha ha dirigido en 6 Liguillas del futbol mexicano para también sumar 26 partidos de fase final y un balance de 11 triunfos, 6 empates y 9 derrotas en este tipo de encuentros.
Caixinha también cuenta con experiencia en competencias importantes de clubes como Copa Libertadores con Santos Laguna, Talleres de Córdoba y el RB Bragantino, además de disputar la ronda clasificatoria de la UEFA Europa League con el Rangers de Escocia.
Su último equipo fue el Santos de Brasil, donde dirigió a Neymar Jr. de enero a abril del presente año. Su carrera como DT la inició en 2003 con el CF Vasco da Gama de Portugal. En 2009 tuvo experiencia internacional al ser auxiliar técnico de José Peseiro con la Selección de Arabia Saudita.
En 2010 dirigió al UD Leiria de Portugal, posteriormente al Clube Desportivo Nacional en 2011 y en 2013 arribó a México con Santos Laguna para su primera experiencia fuera de Portugal. Luego dirigió en el futbol de Qatar en el Al-Gharafa en 2015 y en 2017 tomó las riendas del Rangers de Escocia para después regresar a México con Cruz Azul en 2018.
Posteriormente dirigió en el futbol árabe con el Al-Shabab en 2020, luego regresó a México para su segunda etapa con Santos Laguna en 2022, después arribó a Talleres de Córdoba de Argentina en 2022, y sus más recientes equipos los dirigió en Brasil, al RB Bragantino en 2023 y el Santos en 2025.
Pedro Caixinha está listo para tomar las riendas del club de cara al Clausura 2026 y así escribir una nueva historia en el futbol mexicano y en esta frontera con en el FC Juárez.
